March Viewing Guide

Sightings for the coming month. Look out for a close arrangement of Mercury, Venus and crescent Moon on March 6th in the ESE about Az 110° just an hour before sunrise. (Altitudes Mercury 13° Venus 11°, Moon 10° at 5:48 am )

Also I recommend you all get acquainted with the world-wide observation project “Globe at Night” aimed at plotting Light Pollution throughout the world.

See http://www.globe.gov/globeatnight/ and http://www.astrosociety.org/education/publications/tnl/74/74.html for an article from “The Universe in the Classroom” by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

Cheers and Clear Skies
