Viewing report Saturday 14th November 2009

 

Objects viewed last Saturday night were:

Andromeda Galaxy

Orion Nebula

Double star of Rigil Kentaurus

Jupiter & moons

Helix Nebula

 

And I would like to thank all members and visitors for attending.

Thanks to David & Lydia for the hot cups of tea & light refreshments.

The sky although a little hazy, had little or no clouds to speak of.

The next viewing night will be 19th Dec including our Christmas BBQ

NAS conducted a viewing night at Macarthur Street Shortland with viewing conditions good. A number of new faces were present for the viewing which was great. The highlight of the night was amateur astro-photographer Scott Alder imaging the amazing Andromeda galaxy which was very low in the north western horizon. images below.
